Alhambra8.5Beautiful artwork. Interesting mechanics and quite fun.
Amun-Re8.0
Armada8.0I really like this game. My story with it is quite long as I played it once, many years ago, at a friends house. Then I lost contact with that friend and never played it again. Some time ago I decided to contact Jeux Descartes in order to see if it was still available ad it was not. Curiously, after maybe a month of that contact I visited their site and found out that it would be republished. I ordered it from France and have recently introduced it to my board game group to great success. I think we will play it many many times.
Ave Caesar7.5
Bang!8.0This is a fun game! The theme is well implemented and it works great with non-gamers and gamers alike.
Battle Line8.0I first came to know Schotten Totten. This one adds a bit more depth by adding a tenth card to the mix. I like to play it and prefer the artwork and especially the fact that Tactics cards have text on them.
Blokus8.5
Blue Moon7.5Probably the best option if you are looking for something that resembles a CCG and does not turn quickly into a money pit. Some decks are better than other, yes, but the many different duels possible give great variety and longevity. It also serves as a great backdrop for Blue Moon City.
Blue Moon City9.0Very good game. The cooperative/competitive balance is fascinating. The artwork is excellent and the game usually leads to very close finishes full of tension. Timing seems to be the key here...

Bohnanza8.5Brilliant. Great fun, quick and works for lots of players.
Bohnanza - Erweiterungs-Set (Revised Edition)7.0If you have a lot of players that are in the mood for Bohnanza, this is the option. It can prolong the game a bit if played with a lower number of players, but is still quite fun. I particularly like the Mission cards.
Carcassonne6.5Very good game to introduce people to boardgaming. The concept is usualy new to non-gamers but quite easy to grasp. Also, the art on the tiles is quite interesting and that helps get people interested.
Category 57.5A quick filler. Has some interesting variants if you wish for more complex options, but the base game is still quite fun. I've rarely played to a full 100 points as I tend to use this one as a opening or closing game for a night with new players that are not gamers. Just to show how different games can be without getting into complex rules.
Cathedral6.5My brother brought me a version of this game from Barcelona. I have only played a couple of times but I think it is quite promissing.
Citadels8.5Beautiful drawn cards that demand the use of protectors. Fun and addictive game that has a good theme. Scales well up to 7 and has lots of player interaction so it should be great for parties and all. Very very good.
Clue4.0Well. It's a classic. I don't find it very interesting, but might play it if the group is in the mood and really insist on it.
Coloretto7.0Quick and fun card game. Good for lunchtime breaks and as a filler or gateway for non-gamers.
Commands Colors: Ancients8.5After having contacted the CC system through Memoir 44, this was the other title that interested me. Never found much interest in Battlelore, but this one is great. The Historical setting is well portrayed and so different from Memoir that this shows the versatility of the CC system.
Crossin' Colors8.0Interesting abstract that scales well from 2 to 4 (not a common feature) and that provides for some interesting tactical challenges. I have the pleasure of personally knowing the designer and to have been involved in the late play testing prior to the small self-publication he did himself. I seriously believe it could easily be commercially successful.
Domaine7.5
Don6.0Weird game... must play more to get the hang of it. But it was extremely cheap...

Flaschenteufel6.4An interesting trick taking game, I liked the enclosed story a lot and think that the game does a good job of adapting the trick tacking to the story.
Formula Dé6.5Probably the most interesting roll-and-move game I know. It can drag for a bit with longer races. Needs a group of people that remain focused on the game and play fast.
Full Métal Planète8.5This one was introduced to me around the same time as Armada. I liked it a lot, especially the fact that it used real stones as 'mineral'. I find it quite good and love the limited number of rounds and near absence of random factors. I will take it to my group soon. I think it will be a hit!
Go10.0Probably the most elegant game ever designed. There is nothing I can say about Go that has not been said before and better, so I'll just leave you with a piece of advice, Learn it. Persevere and you will enjoy it.
Great Wall of China7.0
Guillotine7.4It's a fun filler. The artwork is very nice. The theme might be a bit gruesome, but it is a sort of satire to the historical excesses done at the time.
Hacienda7.0
Hamburgum8.0
Hansa7.5Interesting game. The strategies are a bit hard to realise at first, but once you played a full game you are able to realise how to go about it.
Hare Tortoise6.5
Hector and Achilles-
Hey! That's My Fish!7.0

Hive9.0Excellent two player game. Not much more to say. The Bakelite pieces and transport bag are excellent details and add to the value.
Hoity Toity8.0
Ice Flow8.0Deceptively simple looking game. The tactical depth of the final moves is more intense than one might think after reading/hearing the rules. Has a potential for AP, though.
Ingenious9.0A great abstract. One of Knizia's best and one that I have been quite successful when introducing to new players.
Inkognito7.4Interesting deduction game. The fact that you have first do find out who your partner is and only then will be able to know your common objective is quite refreshing.
Intrigue6.5
Klunker7.0A curious game. One must consider carefully what to offer on the display and manage the purchases.
Latrunculorum-
Le Havre-
Loco!6.5I was considering Loco! for some time, but ended up purchasing the Thor version. I prefer the artwork. It's an interesting little game of balance and timing and plays rather fast, so it works great as a filler.
Loot7.0I own the German version, Korsar, which has better artwork. It's a cut-throat, fast playing card game, which conforms well to the theme. Quite interesting to play over lunch.
Lord of the Rings8.5
Lord of the Rings - Friends Foes-
Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation8.0Very good game. The hidden characters offer some mystery that couples greatly with the combat mechanics. The theme is excellent and the game does lend a feel of purpose for both players.
Lost Cities8.5Excellent quick fun game for two players. It seems to be quite successful to teach newcomers to the hobby and the fact that you can teach and play a game in under 15 minutes turns it into an excellent filler as well.
Lost Valley6.0
Louis XIV7.0
Maharaja: Palace Building in India7.5
Mamma Mia!7.0Another great game to use to convert non-gamers. It is very simple but soon anyone playing is entirely focused on remembering what is in the oven to try and complete orders.
Manoeuvre9.0Great game. There is a lot of replay ability due to the number of armies and terrain tiles available. Very satisfying war game in about an hour.
Masons7.5Very interesting game. Quite abstract. A bit chaotic but still quite fun and presents many moments of difficult decision between scoring and holding on for later.
Memoir '448.0Great game. Quick and fun with excellent production value. In spite of the simple mechanics it does manage to convey the tense atmosphere of battle. It might very well be the best possible introduction to war gaming. It can also work as a history study tool because of the historical scenarios of the battles.
Memoir '44 - Eastern Front7.5This was the expansion to Memoir that has always gotten my attention. So far I am quite happy with it. Snipers are an interesting addition.

Meuterer7.0
Modern Art8.0This is an interesting auction game. I especially like the way in which the game pokes some fun at the Modern Art world where you see a lot of garbage being sold by lots of cash, just because some artist has somehow been hyped. The weak artwork is, as far as I can see, part of this.
Mr. Jack8.0A very interesting game for two. The first few plays are relaxed and quick but pretty soon the implications of each move and the possible options left for your opponent make for difficult decisions. Experienced players have a clear advantage over newcomers but the latter soon grasp the basics and make worthy opponents.
Mü Lots More7.4Four games in one box is great value. I've played only Njet so far, but that is such a fun game! Am curious about the others, but still haven«t tried them.
Netrunner7.5This seems to me to possibly be better than Magic: The Gathering. I like theme and when I had a chance to test the game, found it quite interesting. This is one I definitely have to play some more times.
Nicht die Bohne!4.5
No Thanks!6.5A very interesting filler. Plays quickly and still allows for great moments of pushing your opponents when they have to choose between taking some negative points and not letting you take their chips.
Notre Dame7.6
Nottingham-
O Zoo le Mio-
Odin's Ravens9.0I was after this for quite some time till a friend went to Essen 2008 and bought me a copy. Great two player game. Deeper than Lost Cities and equally fun. Fine artwork and components.
Oshi7.5
Pandemic8.5A great cooperative experience. It is essential to avoid that one player dominates and decides what everybody should do. The experience is ruined if not. Play with hidden hands, allow for suggestions of other players but leave the final decision of action to the active player. The game is quite unforgiving and really hard. It mostly comes down to how the two decks are stacked, but who cares as long as the game is such fun?
Pickomino7.5I'd tried this several times on BSW before buying. It's a fun filler, works great up to seven players. Even though dice hate me, I find I can play this one without much anguish... usually.
Pillars of the Earth, The8.0
Polarity7.5
Power Grid9.0
Power Grid Power Plant Deck 2-
Puerto Rico8.0
Pylos7.0I think this is a very good example of how good a game can be without having complex rules. I like it very much.
Ra8.0
Razzia!7.5
Reiner Knizia's Decathlon-
Saint Petersburg8.0I have know this game for quite some time and have recently bought it and introduced it to my group to great success. In two meetings of the group this game had 5 plays. Quite good...
Samurai9.5Lots has been said about this. Knizia at his best. A brilliant presentation and excellent concept. Very nice scaling mechanism for different numbers of players and secret scoring. Samurai is quite deeper than it seems at first.
San Juan8.5
Schotten Totten8.0
Settlers of Catan, The7.5Very good game. The only down factor here is the frustration that sometimes the dice cause, but it is part of the territory and if you accept that, it is usually a rewarding experience.
Shogun8.0
Sole Mio!6.5
Stephenson's Rocket-
StreetSoccer8.5
Taj Mahal-
Tal der Abenteuer: Die Schatzsuche im Himalaja6.5
Through the Desert9.5Another Knizia masterpiece. Great design, excellent presentation. A very entertaining but still challenging game. What could one say about a game that brought the concept of pastel camels to the world? mintcamel limecamel grapecamel lemoncamel orangecamel goldencamel
Tichu9.5As far as trick taking games are concerned I don't think one could do much better. With the probable exception of Bridge, this is be the best partnership trick taking game I know of.
Ticket to Ride: Europe8.0Great enhancement of the orginal Ticket to Ride that, in my opinion, gives this game greater depth and durability.
Tigris Euphrates9.0
Timbuktu7.5
To Court the King7.0
Torres7.8
Tower of Babel7.0
Tribune: Primus Inter Pares8.7I really, really like the game. I can easily see why this was above Agricola in the Fairplay poll at Essen 2007. I feel that 5 players may not be the best number, but have yet to try all the objectives variants and also the point-scoring variant.
Turn The Tide6.5
Um Reifenbreite-
Venedig-
Werewolves of Miller's Hollow8.0An excellent option for parties. Works well even with non-gamers. A bit dependent on the group and the talent of the narrator, but can be great fun.
Wings of War - Burning Drachens-
Wings of War - Famous Aces7.5
Wings of War - Miniatures-
Wings of War - Watch Your Back!8.0I have always been fascinated by WWI aerial warfare. Something about having the guts to get aboard a machine made of wood and canvas and exchange gunshots in mid air just goes to the crazy and careless side of me. This game manages to convey some feeling of what it was like. The artwork is brilliant, the game play is fluid and easy to grasp and it makes for some very fun moments.
Winner's Circle7.0
Wits Wagers8.4Great great fun. Trivia games tend to die quickly as someone has a better memory for the answers, but on this one this does not give them so much advantage as other players may benefit from their knowledge. I don't think I'll ever need another variant for this kind of game. Works great with non-gamers and gamers alike.
